Our National Mussel Watch Program recently finished their 2024 surveys of the Gulf of Mexico. They’ve expanded their surveys from 67 to 102 sites and are now testing for additional chemicals (chlorinated paraffins) that are found in a variety of industrial products, like paints, sealants, and adhesives. https://coastalscience.noaa.gov/news/noaas-mussel-watch-program-expands-coastal-contamination-monitoring/
