Guyon currently serves as the Branch Chief for Key Species and Bioinformatics. His branch works on Atlantic and Pacific corals, marine mammals, benthic organisms, and genetic studies.
Guyon has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame as part of a joint program with the Department of Genetics at Harvard Medical School and a B.S. in Mathematics from the United States Coast Guard Academy. His recent assignments within NOAA have also included serving as the Genetics Program Manager for the NMFS Alaska Fisheries Science Center (2008-2018) and the acting Laboratory Director for the NMFS Galveston Laboratory in Texas (2018).
