Dennis Apeti, PhD

Apeti coordinates and manages the day-to-day activities of the Mussel Watch Program, a nationwide coastal contamination-monitoring program. Responsibilities include, budget planning, work plan development, supervision of field efforts and data collection, and serving data and information to the American public.

As a senior scientist Apeti has served as PI and/or Co-PI on research and monitoring efforts that assess coastal environment stressors, particularly chemical contaminants and biological indicators of coastal water quality. Apeti is a skilled team player who has collaborated and worked with scientists from diverse backgrounds, including, federal, state, and Tribal partners.

Apeti holds a Bachelor of Science degrees in Biological Sciences and Chemistry, a Master of Science degree in Environmental Chemistry, and a Doctoral degree in Environmental Sciences.
