USA Science and Engineering Festival Wows the Public

NOAA joined others and celebrated science at the USA Science and Engineering Festival on April 28 & 29, 2012. The festival was open to the public, free, and held in the DC Convention Center. An estimated 500,000 people came to the festival. The NOAA booth offered opportunities to drive a little ROV, build abuoy, take a picture as a NOAA scientist, experience being a meteorologist, and learn about marine mammals, ocean acidification, turtle exclusion devices, and the hydrosphere. Susan Baker joined other NOAA staff in leading activities and discussing NOAA science.
