NOAA Supports Middle School Career Fair

Research Area(s): Other Topics / Outreach

Taking advantage of an opportunity to inform the public about the importance of NOAA science, NCCOS staff participated in last month's Fort Johnson Middle School Career Fair in Charleston, South Carolina. Approximately 525 students from grades 6 -8 attended the career fair, which featured 30 different local agencies and companies representing government, industry, and academia.

NOAA's hands-on display of marine mammals and deep sea corals was a big hit. Many students were excited to learn about the broad range of scientific research done at the NCCOS Charleston lab, as well as NOAA's careers and services available nationwide.
