NCCOS is providing the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary with scientific and technical support that will enable the sanctuary to review and analyze information on human uses and natural resources and propose management alternatives for the region.
The two groups recently co-hosted a workshop at theKey West Eco-Discovery Center,the fourth in a series of six workshops, to develop recommendations on the Lower Keys for the Sanctuary Advisory Council to consider including in a revision of theFlorida Keys National Marine Sanctuary management plan. Another workshop is planned for June 10 -11 to focus on the Marquesas, a circular island chain west of Key West and part of the sanctuary.
