The staff of the Cooperative Oxford Laboratory collaborated with facility partners of U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Station Oxford conducting a community trash cleanup in support of Earth Day 2019 on April 26.

Staff removed four trash bags, boards and miscellaneous items from throughout the town of Oxford, MD, in preparation for Oxford Day and in support of Earth Day.

The Cooperative Oxford Laboratory (COL) operates under an agreement between the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the NOAA National Ocean Service to share the facility and cooperate in research. NCCOS operates the 16,000 square-foot main laboratory, with onsite partners, including: NOAA’s Chesapeake Bay Office, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, and the U.S. Coast Guard. The lab has a 55-foot research vessel used for regional research.
