orange branching coralThis past spring, 200 select coral fragments took a ride on a custom deep-sea elevator to the seafloor of the Gulf of Mexico. This exciting expedition marked the first direct outplanting efforts to restore the deep coral communities injured by the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
