The NOAA RESTORE Science Program is excited to announce 10 new awards, totaling $16.8 million, to project teams in the Gulf of Mexico to conduct collaborative ecosystem science to inform natural resource management. Projects will inform management of propeller scarring in seagrasses, coastal-breeding bird populations, marine mammals, red tide mortality in reef fish, oyster harvest and restoration, oil spill responses, and other management actions in the Gulf of Mexico region. Each team includes at least one natural resource manager who will work side-by-side with researchers throughout the project.
