Adding polarimetric cameras to drones could improve detection of human-made objects

To date, drones for beach debris detection have used only conventional cameras that have three spectral bands (red, green, and blue, abbreviated RGB). A new study by NOAA and partners suggests that adding polarimetric cameras to drones could improve detection of human-made objects from the air. Learn more:
