Graduate Student to Present Research at International Conference

Bob Crimian, a student in the College of Charleston Master of Science in Environmental Studies program was selected as one of six Student Fellows to present hisresearch at the international Ecosystem Services (ACES) and EcosystemMarkets 2012conference, taking place December 10 -14 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Crimian isalso a research assistant at the National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science’s Hollings Marine Laboratory.

Crimian’s research focuses on therelationship between urban salt marsh restoration and human well-being. He was selected from more than 70 of themost qualified students in the world who are studying “ecosystem services,” a phrase that encompasses many direct and indirect benefits humans derive from our natural world. At the Hollings Lab, Crimian is working on a variety ofprojects focused on the well-being of coastal communities.
