Josie Galloway

Galloway is the executive secretary of the HABHRCA Interagency Working Group. Prior to joining NCCOS, Galloway was a Program Analyst with NOAA Research and managed congressional analysis and relations for several labs and programs spanning climate, great lakes, severe storms, and uncrewed systems research. She also worked with NOAA Research as a Sea Grant Knauss Fellow conducting congressional outreach and coordination. Prior to coming to NOAA in 2020, Galloway co-managed the Rare Plant Monitoring and Seed Collection program for the McHenry County Conservation District. She also assisted with wildlife surveys, site mapping, and streamline restoration projects.

Galloway received her M.S. in Biological Sciences from Bowling Green State University in 2019 where she studied applied ecology with a focus in agricultural entomology and harmful algal blooms. Her research examined the effect of climate change and invertebrate diversity on soil health and nutrient cycling. She received a BS in Environmental Biology from Beloit College where she studied defensive behavior of Redwing blackbirds and calling behavior of their nestlings.
