Caitlin Young, PhD

Young is the Science Coordinator for the NOAA RESTORE Science Program. The Science Program is an applied ecosystem sciences program focused on the Gulf of Mexico. It is a cross-NOAA program administratively housed in NCCOS.

Young is a geochemist with research experience working on groundwater-surface water interactions in coastal systems. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Florida before becoming a National Academies of Sciences Gulf Research Program Science Policy fellow working with the NOAA RESTORE Science Program.

Young has a BS in Geology from Tulane University and a Ph.D. in Geosciences from Stony Brook University.
