Collaborating with Morgan State University’s Patuxent Environmental and Aquatic Research Laboratory

NCCOS scientist, Dr. Suzanne Bricker and her project partner, Matt Parker, Aquaculture Business Specialist University of Maryland Extension, met with researchers at the Morgan State University Patuxent Environmental and Aquatic Research Laboratory (PEARL) on December 15, 2017. The meeting was convened by Dr. Scott Knoche, Interim Director at PEARL, to discuss potential collaboration and development of stronger linkages among researchers at PEARL, MD Sea Grant and the Oxford Cooperative Lab. Matt Parker gave a presentation that included discussion of the current Oxford – MD Sea Grant collaborative project ‘Shellfish Payment for Ecosystem Services in Chesapeake Bay’ with discussion of possible involvement of the PEARL researchers in follow up research. Dr. Knoche extended an invitation for a presentation by Dr. Bricker and continued discussion of potential collaborations with Matt Parker later this coming February, 2018.
