Marine Mammal Mysteries book illustrator/artist (Virtual or Miami, FL)

Summary / Description

Illustrator/Artist needed for a Marine Mammal Mysteries popular science book to be published by Springer Nature. Specific illustrations needed for front and back cover, and for every chapter focused on specific themes, e.g., marine mammal population, behavioral ecology, acoustics, etc. (Number of chapters: 31). This will be a high-visibility publication and will be an important early career accomplishment for an undergraduate/graduate student. Each intern will also receive a hard copy of the book. If the candidate is local to Miami, there are possibilities of participating in field or lab work, and opportunities to interact with other scientists during the internship tenure. Alternatively, if there is travel funding, the candidate/s can visit the lab and learn more about Southeast Fisheries Science Center marine mammal and sea turtle research activities in the Southeast.

Skills Required

Science communication, knowledge or interest in environmental and  biological sciences, proficient in design, illustrations, especially digital. The selected candidate must have exceptional writing and verbal communication skills, be proficient in Google suite products and applications, and be highly responsive to emails, project and administrative requests.
