Great Lakes 2011 Research Conference Highlights Science

Scientists sponsored byNOAA's National Centers for Coastal Ocean Scienceparticipated in the 54th International Conference on Great Lakes Research, May 30 -June 3, 2011 in Duluth, Minnesota, the world's busiest freshwater port located on the shores of Lake Superior. NCCOS scientists presented research findings in 16 presentations among eight special sessions.

The annual conference highlights the active role NCCOS plays in the Great Lakes with research programs such as ecological forecasting, multiple stressors, hypoxia, and harmful algal blooms. The Great Lakes Research Conference is sponsored by the International Association for Great Lakes Research (IAGLR).
