The nearshore habitats of Alaska’s Kachemak Bay are beneficial to fish, birds, and for stabilizing the shoreline

The nearshore habitats of Alaska’s Kachemak Bay are home and nurseries to many fish species, provide stopover sites for migratory birds, and help stabilize the shoreline. Staff at the Kasitsna Bay Lab are using drone and SCUBA surveys to map the intertidal and subtidal habitats, which will help inform and support management decisions. https://coastalscience.noaa.gov/project/mapping-intertidal-and-subtidal-habitats-of-kachemak-bay-and-lower-cook-inlet-alaska/
