Following the spring harmful algal bloom mapping survey in Kodiak, AK, NCCOS scientists and partners are one step closer to testing a newly-developed HAB forecast for the area. This will help alert subsistence harvesters of potentially fatal toxins that accumulate in shellfish and cause paralytic shellfish poisoning.
