The NOAA RESTORE Science Program is awarding $7.1M in funding for two projects focused on long term trends in the Gulf of America ecosystem. Over the course of five years, project teams will conduct long-term collaborative research that informs natural resource management. The projects are focused on natural resources on Florida’s barrier islands and shallow and mesophotic coral communities off of Texas. Each team includes at least one natural resource manager who will work side-by-side with researchers throughout the project.
