NCCOS scientists and partners are collecting samples of harmful algae in the waters of Kodiak, Alaska to determine the bloom distribution and dynamics of the toxic species, Alexandrium catenella. The Bongo net here is collecting zooplankton like shrimp, jellyfish, and copepods to analyze for HAB toxin presence.
