Website refresh and content creation for Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary’s website (Hawaii or Virtual)

Summary / Description

Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary is seeking assistance in reviewing our website content, updating existing material, and creating new content to include our current projects. This project will involve working with our sanctuary staff to identify out of date content and draft language and review and identify updated photographs and video content  to accurately convey our work on our public website. The student will work closely with staff members and follow guidelines for plain language writing and accessibility that have been outlined by the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries (ONMS). All content will need to be submitted for approval to ONMS headquarters prior to being published onto our website.

Skills Required

Attention to detail, plain language writing skills, experience working with Google suite, ability to adhere to ONMS guidelines, editing experience, science knowledge of humpback whales (desired, but not required), experience communicating about humpback whales, ideally in Hawaii (desired, but not required), environmental education experience (desired, but not required), science communication experience (desired, but not required), and video editing experience (desired, but not required).
