Hudson River NERR Environmental Research Intern

Summary / Description

Internship duties include identifying and quantifying emergent marsh and submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV), sampling Surface Elevation Tables (SETs), maintaining a tide station, assisting with elevation surveys, river water sampling (from shore or boat), assisting with laboratory processing of samples (filtering and weighing), calibrating instruments, and acid washing sample bottles.

Housing has been arranged for previous interns in the home of a co-worker. Contact Sarah Fernald for additional logistical details.

Skills Required

Undergraduate preferred, must be must be comfortable working in and around water and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
