Summary / Description

South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve offers diverse educational programs about estuary habitats and on-going research for students, teachers, summer camp children, visitors and members of the local community on Oregon’s south coast. Education interns at South Slough have the opportunity to work closely with all aspects of the education program, as well as occasional chances to work with the science and monitoring program. This internship will focus on using digital media as a way of communicating about the education and research being done at the reserve.

Skills Required

Expressed interest in science communication or environmental education is essential. Other requirements include the capacity to work outdoors in varying weather conditions; ability to work as part of a team; strong communication skills.
Desired: a background in natural resources, environmental science or education; experience working with video and photo editing software; experience leading or assisting with science education programs.
