NCCOS Unveils New NOAA Ocean Science Blog
This week, the National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) unveiled a new social media tool
for informing scientists, coastal zone managers, state decision-makers and the public about ongoing
research taking place at NCCOS. The COS Blog will complement existing outreach efforts at NCCOS
by providing readers with a more detailed perspective of NCCOS science through interviews of and
postings written by the scientists for scientists. It received over 700 hits on its first day and is expected
to exceed 2,000 visits by the end of this week. It will be regularly updated to reflect ongoing research
taking place across NCCOS on the topics of climate change, pollution, HABs and science for coastal
ecosystem management. Visit the blog at http://noaaoceanscience.wordpress.com/.
