Award-winning Environmental Practices Recognized for the Second Year in a Row
On April 6, the National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science garnered the 2010 Department of Commerce Environmental Stewardship Award for the second year in a row. This prestigious award, in the category of “Electronics Stewardship,” recognizes Commerce organizations which promote sustainable and environmentally friendly purchasing, use, maintenance, and disposal of electronic equipment.
The award goes to innovators of the most effective practices under Executive Order (EO) 13423, Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management. NCCOS’s exemplary record sets it apart in a way that is recognized at the Cabinet level.
