Modeling environmental effects workshop summary
Goals:
1. Review current state of knowledge regarding environmental impacts of marine cage culture
2. Evaluate models as tools for regulators, researchers, and industry to support sustainable industry growth in the U.S
3. Assess capacity of existing models to predict environmental impacts, optimize farm siting and inform BMPs
4. Identify barriers to model development (e.g., environmental effects), model sensitivity and field validation needs
